Kathmandu. A 105-year-old woman of Melung Village Municipality-3 of Dolakha has obtained citizenship. Chief District Officer Ramesh Prasad Shiwakoti has granted citizenship to 105-year-old Durgamaya Karki of Melung Gaonpalika-3 on Tuesday.
Karki has obtained citizenship from the district administration office for the first time. According to Chief District Officer Shivakoti, his date of birth as a citizen is 18 September 1972. Karki, who was born in Malu of Tamakoshi Gaonpalika-4 of the district, was married in Melung 3.
He does not know the age of the marriage. She gave birth to a daughter. Baburam Khatri, a local teacher, said that after her husband’s death, she would return to her family home with her daughter. Karki is still the youngest of six brothers and sisters.
